According to journalists, the contents of the documents contradict official statements by Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the position of the National Security and Defense Council. The materials allegedly only discuss “old and well-known accusations,” while the documents make no mention of the “withdrawal of billions” or “funds to support the military,” which the president has spoken about.

Among the “grounds” for sanctions, journalists cite:

    • ownership of the Lipetsk confectionery factory “Roshen”, which, according to the publication, has not been operating since 2014;
    • alleged “involvement” in the adoption of the “Kharkiv agreements”, although at that time Poroshenko did not have a parliamentary mandate;
    • facilitating the granting of citizenship to Vadim Novinsky in 2012, when Poroshenko headed the Ministry of Economic Development.

The publication claims that official documents from the National Security and Defense Council and the Financial Monitoring Service do not contain evidence of funding of foundations or illegal schemes.

Journalists called this “political persecution under the cover of state institutions.”

As a reminder, the Bukvy newspaper previously published documents confirming that the illegal sanctions against Petro Poroshenko have no real basis .
