The European Union has begun developing a new, 19th package of sanctions against the aggressor state. Brussels intends to further increase pressure on the Kremlin, not limiting itself to formal measures.

This was stated by Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, the Estonian Foreign Ministry reports.

He emphasized that the previous, 18th package demonstrates the unwavering determination of the European community and its readiness to consistently reduce Russia’s ability to finance aggression.

According to Tsahkna, each new restriction is aimed at cutting off the Kremlin’s access to petrodollars — profits that are converted into missiles, drones, and shelling of Ukrainian cities.

“We will not stand aside. Russia must understand: there is no longer a place in international politics for a state that resorts to war against a sovereign country,” the diplomat emphasized.

The EU, he said, will not stop until the terrorist country is held accountable. Preparations for a new package are already underway, and allies are determined to maximize pressure.

“Half-hearted solutions are not our path. Each sanctions package confirms: Ukraine has support, and Russia will not escape punishment,” Tsahkna said.

As a reminder, EU ambassadors have approved a new, eighteenth package of sanctions against Russia . This package focuses on reducing the maximum price for Russian oil, as well as adding to the sanctions list more than a hundred vessels that are part of the Russian Federation’s so-called “shadow fleet” – ships that help circumvent international restrictions.

As reported, the Donald Trump administration will impose secondary sanctions and tariffs against Russia if a ceasefire is not achieved in Ukraine within 50 days.
