US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced a significant tightening of sanctions against Russia during a meeting with journalists.
According to him, this will happen in the near future.
“We are going to announce this evening or tomorrow morning a significant tightening of sanctions against Russia,” Bessent noted.
As Pryamyi previously reported, on the evening of October 22, European Union ambassadors agreed on the 19th sanctions package against Russia over its war in Ukraine. Among other things, it includes a ban on imports of liquefied natural gas from Russia starting in January 2027, a year earlier than previously planned.
