Writer and director Michael Patrick King has officially announced that the third season of the series “Just Like That” will be the final one for the entire television franchise “Sex and the City”.
The corresponding statement was published on the feed’s page on the social network Instagram . Despite this, fans will be able to enjoy their favorite series a little more, because the final season was made two episodes longer.
“And just like that…” – the ongoing narrative of the Sex and the City universe is coming to an end. “When I was writing the final episode of Season 3, it became clear to me that this was the right place to stop. Together with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys and Sarah Aubrey, we decided to end the popular series this year with a two-part finale and expanded it from 10 episodes to 12,” King said.

The announcement of the finale was an emotional moment for the stars of the series. Sarah Jessica Parker posted a video montage of her iconic character Carrie Bradshaw’s best moments on Instagram , accompanied by a farewell poem.
“Carrie Bradshaw dominated my professional rhythm for 27 years. I think I loved her more than anyone. I know others loved her as much as I did. Disappointed, judged, and rooted for her. The symphony of all these emotions was the best soundtrack and most consistent companion. Gratitude and a lifelong debt,” the celebrity wrote.

Her co-stars were equally emotional. Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte York, shared: “I am so sad. I love all of our wonderful cast and crew. And to our loyal fans, we love you forever.”
Cynthia Nixon, who plays Miranda Hobbes, said: “I can’t believe our crazy, wonderful ride is almost over… Don’t miss the last few episodes – there are some surprises in store!”
The series “And Just Like That” started in 2021 as a continuation of the legendary “Sex and the City”, which aired on HBO from 1998-2004 and spawned two full-length films. The new series again brought together three of the four main actresses – Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis. Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones, did not return to the main cast.
The show has received mixed reviews from audiences, with some delighted by the plot and others openly critical of it. As the BBC notes, the number of views of “And Just Like That…” episodes has been declining over the course of three seasons.
