Former executive director of NPC Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytskyi has become a subject of an investigation conducted by the State Bureau of Investigation. Investigators are checking his involvement in abuse of office and misappropriation of state company funds.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing sources.

According to sources, the investigation concerns a possible artificial increase in deforestation and inflated costs during the construction of energy highways. Official information on the amount of damage or details has not yet been released.

Volodymyr Kudrytskyi headed Ukrenergo from 2020 to 2024. On September 2, 2024, the company’s Supervisory Board decided to dismiss him from the position of head.

Three state representatives on the supervisory board — Yuriy Tokarsky, Oleksandr Baranyuk, and Yuriy Boyko — as well as independent board member Roman Pionkovsky voted in favor of the decision. Two other independent members opposed the dismissal.

Before the vote, international donors sent a letter to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal asking him to suspend the process of Kudrytsky’s resignation.

After his dismissal, Daniel Daubeni, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ukrenergo, and Peder Andersen, member of the board, also submitted resignation applications.

We will remind that last summer, NABU and SBU detained the head of the security department of Ukrenergo, Serhiy Totsky, who, according to the investigation, was the supervisor of the purchase of bulletproof vests.

Later, Kudrytskyi confirmed that he had testified in criminal proceedings opened by the NABU and the SBU regarding the embezzlement of state funds during the purchase of bulletproof vests in March-April 2022. At that time, he acted as a witness.
