SBU and Defense Forces hit Novorossiysk port in Russia: consequences of the attack

Special forces of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Security and Defense Forces struck the Novorossiysk port in Russia, which is the second largest oil export center. The attack damaged a number of infrastructure facilities and recorded explosions at anti-aircraft positions.

This is reported by “Ukrainska Pravda” with reference to sources in the Security Service of Ukraine.

On the night of November 14, the “Alpha” special forces of the Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service, the coastal missile and artillery troops of the Naval Forces, and other components of the Defense Forces, conducted an operation to destroy the oil terminal of the Novorossiysk seaport.

The port is a key logistics hub for the export of petroleum products across the Black Sea.

According to sources, the attack damaged oil tankers at the berths, pipeline infrastructure, and pumping stations. A major fire is ongoing at the oil terminal.

It was also confirmed that the positions of the S-300 or S-400 anti-aircraft missile system were hit on the territory of military unit number one thousand five hundred and thirty-seven in Novorossiysk. A powerful detonation was recorded after the strikes.

“The SBU, together with the Security and Defense Forces, continue to reduce petrodollar revenues to the Russian budget. Each affected refinery or oil terminal means minus millions of dollars for the Kremlin’s war machine. We will continue to deprive the aggressor of resources until he loses the ability to wage this war,” the SBU noted.

By the way, on the night of November 14 , Ukrainian troops launched successful strikes with “Long Neptunes” on targets in Russia , responding to a massive enemy missile attack.

It was previously reported that on the night of November 14 and in the morning , powerful explosions were heard in the temporarily occupied Crimea and the city of Sevastopol .
