SBU colonel shot dead in Kyiv: “Interception” plan announced

On Wednesday, July 10, Colonel of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Voronych died in Kyiv.
His death was reported by former intelligence officer Roman Chervinsky, calling it a personal loss and a loss for many patriotic SBU employees.
According to Chervinsky, the attack occurred around 8:00 a.m. when Voronych was leaving his house. An unknown person approached him and shot him several times at close range. The colonel was fatally wounded.
Chervinsky emphasized that Ivan Voronych had served since 2014 and was one of the officers who created the direction in the SBU, which is now effectively operating against the Russian occupiers.
“This is not just a loss. Ivan was one of those who first took responsibility for difficult decisions in the fight against the enemy. He created something that today seriously complicates the life of the aggressor,” Chervinsky noted.
It is known that after committing the crime, the attacker got into an SUV and drove off in an unknown direction. The city announced an operational plan “Interception” to search for and detain the attacker.
The investigation into the attack is ongoing. According to preliminary data, it is the work of a hostile sabotage group.
As a reminder, on Tuesday, July 8, at around 7 a.m. in the Desnyanskyi district of Kyiv, an unknown person shot and killed a man sitting in his own car.
As reported, prosecutors from the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office sent an indictment to the court against a citizen who shot a military man and planned to kill the head of the Kharkiv OVA and the head of the Dergachiv MVA.
