SBU confirms strikes on two Russian oil depots in Tver and Stavropol
The Security Service of Ukraine confirmed the strikes on two Russian oil depots in the Tver region and Stavropol Territory. The special operation was carried out on the night of July 9 to fulfill the tasks of the President of Ukraine to reduce the military-economic potential of the aggressor state.
This was reported by the press service of the SBU.
The first target was the Chervona Zorya oil depot in the Tver region, located 520 kilometers from the state border of Ukraine. According to the SBU, a fire broke out at the facility after Ukrainian strike drones hit it.
The second facility was the Stavropolskaya oil depot in the Stavropol Territory of the Russian Federation, also located more than 500 kilometers from Ukraine. A large-scale fire broke out there, the area of which, according to the special services, is rapidly increasing.
The SBU noted that both oil depots provide the reception, storage, and release of automotive gasoline and diesel fuel.
At the same time, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the Ukrainian military continues to implement a “long-range sanctions plan” in response to Russia’s protracted war and its strikes on Ukrainian cities.
“The day before, there were important attacks on facilities that supply the Russian oil complex and serve military policy,” the head of state said.
According to Zelensky, in addition to oil depots in Tver and Stavropol, units of the Defense Forces also struck a reserve storage facility for fuel accumulation and storage, an oil pumping station in Ufa, and an oil loading terminal in the Rostov region.
“We have long proposed to Russia to end this war, and every day of delay should bring the feeling of war to where it all began – to Russia,” the President of Ukraine emphasized.
As a reminder, on the night of Thursday, July 9, drones attacked a number of fuel infrastructure facilities in Russia . Oil depots in Tver and Stavropol Krai, as well as two tankers in the Taganrog Bay, were hit.
