SBU detained 18-year-old Russian agent who coordinated attack on Kyiv on May 24

The SBU detained a Russian agent who coordinated one of the largest Russian air attacks on Kyiv on the night of May 24.

This was reported by the press center of the SBU.

According to the investigation, the suspect was detained the day after the shelling of the capital. At that time, he was conducting additional reconnaissance near one of the Defense Ministry facilities and recording the consequences of the strike for Russian special services.

The SBU stated that the agent planned to transfer the collected information to a curator from the Russian Federation to prepare new and adjust repeated attacks on Kyiv.

According to counterintelligence, an 18-year-old man from Kyiv was working for the enemy. Russian special services recruited him through Telegram channels, where the guy was looking for “easy money.”

At first, the agent performed test tasks – he traveled to the suburbs of Kyiv and marked the routes of movement of military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Google maps.

After that, he was tasked with recording the consequences of the combined attack on the capital and passing the information on to the Russians.

Law enforcement officers documented how an agent arrived at one of the military facilities to check on its condition after a night strike.

During his detention, a smartphone with prepared intelligence reports and a detailed description of the consequences of the shelling was seized from him.

Investigators have informed the detainee of suspicion of treason committed during martial law. The court has already chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention for him.

According to the SBU, the guy faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

As previously reported, on the night of May 24, Russian forces launched a large-scale combined attack on Ukraine , using missiles and kamikaze drones. Kyiv suffered the greatest destruction – damage and fires were recorded in all districts of the capital.

Recall that on the night of May 24, Russian troops carried out one of the largest air attacks on Ukraine, using 90 missiles of various types and 600 drones.
