SBU detained a Kyiv resident who shared a video with air defense positions

A local resident was detained in Kyiv after filming Ukrainian air defense positions on his phone and passing the video to a blogger who previously worked for Viktor Medvedchuk’s TV channel. The man faces up to eight years in prison.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the Kyiv resident filmed the positions of the Defense Forces through the windshield of his car. After that, he sent the video on Telegram to a sanctioned blogger who is currently outside the territory controlled by Ukraine.

This blogger previously worked on Viktor Medvedchuk’s TV channel.

An examination initiated by the SBU found that the dissemination of information about the location of Ukrainian military personnel harmed state security.

The detainee was informed of suspicion of unauthorized dissemination of information about the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which allows them to be identified on the ground. Under this article, he faces up to eight years in prison.

The SBU also urged Ukrainians not to film or publish the work of air defense, the location of military facilities, as well as the consequences of Russian attacks, if such materials could reveal information about the Defense Forces.
