SBU detained FSB agent who was pointing ballistics at Kyiv

The Security Service of Ukraine has detained a man in Kyiv suspected of working for the FSB. According to investigators, he was collecting coordinates of objects that the Russians could use as targets for missile and drone strikes on the capital.

This was reported by the press center of the SBU.

According to the investigation, the detainee worked as a construction worker. He had previously been tried for drug-related crimes. According to the special services, the Russians recruited the man through Telegram channels, where they offered “easy money.”

After being recruited, he toured Kyiv and the region, photographing logistics centers, warehouses, checkpoints, and places where Ukrainian military personnel might be located. He marked the coordinates on Google Maps and sent the photos and videos to a curator from the FSB.

In addition, the man documented the consequences of previous Russian strikes on Kyiv in order to pass this data on to Russian intelligence.

Law enforcement officers detained the suspect after another round of information gathering. During the search, they seized a mobile phone, in which, according to the SBU, they found evidence of cooperation with the FSB.

Investigators informed the man of suspicion of treason committed during martial law.

If the court finds him guilty, he faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

As a reminder, on the night of August 5, Russian forces carried out a combined missile and drone attack on Kyiv . The shelling killed one person and injured 24 others, 15 of whom were hospitalized.
