SBU Detains Opposition Platform – For Life MP

The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Office of the Prosecutor General, detained a people’s deputy of the 9th convocation from the banned Opposition Platform – For Life party, suspected of treason.

The SBU press service reported this.

According to the investigation, the politician was recruited in Russian by the FSB even before the start of a full-scale war and carried out the tasks of the special service, in particular, he established a mechanism for influencing the leadership of one of the law enforcement agencies.

In July, he was notified of suspicion under articles on treason and abuse of influence. After his arrest, he was taken to court, which upheld the measure of restraint – detention. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
