SBU exposed a scheme in the Zhytomyr CCC: the head was detained

The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed and detained the head of the Zhytomyr Regional CCC and Joint Venture, who is suspected of extorting money from a local entrepreneur.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the official organized a scheme to obtain illegal benefits. He demanded money from the owner of the company in exchange for not carrying out mobilization measures against his employees of draft age.

As law enforcement officers established, after receiving the money, the defendant also asked to provide lists of the company’s employees, whom he promised “not to touch” during checks by mobile CCC groups and at checkpoints.

The SBU reported that the official was detained while receiving another tranche of a bribe.

“He was caught red-handed while transferring money from an entrepreneur,” the special services noted.

Investigators have already charged him with receiving an illegal benefit by an official. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Currently, investigative actions are ongoing, law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the case and possible accomplices. The investigation is being conducted under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.
