SBU exposed a traitor who was preparing a Russian attack on Ukrainian Neptune missile systems

Military counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a “mole” recruited by the Russian military intelligence (GRU). The 33-year-old serviceman was preparing an enemy attack on Ukrainian anti-ship complexes “Neptune”.

This was reported by the press service of the SBU.

“Military counterintelligence of the Security Service, with the assistance of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Commander of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, detained another Russian agent who was spying on the enemy in the Defense Forces,” the post states.

According to the case materials, the man was preparing an air attack by Russian forces on Ukrainian Neptune missile systems, which provide fire control over the coastal zone of the Black Sea. On the instructions of the enemy, the agent was to transmit the coordinates of the unit in which he served, which is responsible for protecting Neptune anti-ship systems in southern Ukraine.

If the occupiers received this information, they planned to launch a combined strike using drones and cruise missiles. Before the attack began, the curator was to warn the agent to move to a “safe” distance from the affected area.

Law enforcement officers thwarted the enemy’s plans when they promptly exposed the traitor and documented his intelligence activities.

After securing the Defense Forces locations, the Security Service detained the suspect while he was preparing an intelligence “report” for the Russians. During the investigation, it turned out that he was also supposed to coordinate strikes on the training centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he had previously received training. During the search, a mobile phone containing evidence of his cooperation with the enemy was seized from the detainee.

“Investigators of the Security Service informed the agent about suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law). The perpetrator is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property,” the post says.

As a reminder, in the ranks of the Defense Forces, the Security Service exposed a serviceman who worked for Russian special services and shared information about fellow soldiers with the enemy.

As reported, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed and detained an FSB agent who served in the National Guard assault brigade . The operation took place in Kharkiv with the assistance of the Minister of Internal Affairs and the NGU command.
