SBU exposes person who corrected airstrikes on Sloviansk

Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine exposed and detained an FSB agent in the Donetsk region who was coordinating Russian strikes on Sloviansk and collecting information about the Defense Forces.

This was reported by the press center of the SBU.

According to the investigation, the 51-year-old security guard at the local boiler house was cooperating with the Russian special services. He came to the attention of the enemy after posting pro-Russian comments and expectations of a complete occupation of the region on Telegram channels.

After work, the man walked around the front-line city and recorded the locations of Ukrainian military and equipment. He marked geolocations on electronic maps, noted the approximate number of personnel, types of weapons, and the purpose of the facilities.

In addition, the agent monitored the consequences of attacks by guided bombs and drones on Slavyansk. He systematized the information he collected in the form of reports and transmitted it to the FSB curator via messenger.

SBU officers documented his activities and detained him at his residence after securing the Defense Forces locations. During the search, law enforcement officers discovered an underground shelter that the suspect had set up to hide in case of fighting and wait for Russian troops. They also seized two mobile phones from him for communication with the curator.

Investigators informed the detainee of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – high treason under martial law. The court chose for him a preventive measure in the form of detention. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by SBU officers in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

It was previously reported that a local resident was detained in Kharkiv who was making explosives to carry out terrorist attacks and poisoning Ukrainian servicemen.

As a reminder, in Kyiv, the Security Service of Ukraine detained an employee of a bank who turned out to be a Russian agent . The suspect was passing on personal data of soldiers and volunteers to the FSB.
