SBU exposes teenagers who were incited by the Russian Federation to commit terrorist attacks in schools

The SBU and the National Police thwarted attempts by the Russian Federation to organize bloody terrorist attacks in schools in the Kirovohrad and Odessa regions.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

Law enforcement officers have exposed two local schoolchildren who were recruited by Russian intelligence services via Telegram and TikTok. The teenagers were supposed to blow up their high schools and open fire on their classmates.

The investigation found that the Russian curators manipulated the children, appealing to “justice”, revenge on the offenders and supposedly protecting their loved ones. After committing the crime, they encouraged the teenagers to commit suicide in order to eliminate witnesses.

In Kirovohrad Oblast, a 15-year-old student was tasked with making a homemade bomb. He planned to bring it to school and detonate it during recess. He was then to use his grandfather’s gun and a knife to finish off the survivors.

The SBU exposed the teenager early, documented his connections with the Russian curator, and conducted searches. An explosive device, components for its manufacture, weapons, and equipment with evidence of collaboration with the enemy were seized from him.

In the Odessa region, law enforcement officers stopped another schoolboy during the recruitment phase. According to the investigation, Russian special services planned to send him weapons by mail for a mass murder at a high school.

Investigators have already charged a 15-year-old suspect from Kirovohrad region with preparing a terrorist attack. He faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The SBU continues the investigation and identifies all those involved.

It was previously reported that incidents in schools in Transcarpathia, in particular the shooting in Chop, were linked to the recruitment of teenagers by Russian special services.

As a reminder, the SBU detained a 17-year-old Russian agent who was preparing a double terrorist attack near a police station in Kremenchuk.
