Ukrainian forces have shot down a Tu-95 strategic bomber in Engels, Russia, which Russia has been using for massive missile attacks on Ukraine. According to the SBU, the aircraft suffered critical damage, with its tail section completely torn off.

This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, releasing a video of the strike.

According to him, the operation was carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine, and the target was approximately 800 kilometers from the Ukrainian state border.

“The distance from our state border is about 800 kilometers. We are defending ourselves fairly and actively,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

The President also reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck Russian oil industry facilities and designated military targets in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.

“We are increasing the price for Russia for its aggression against our state and people,” the head of state noted.

The Security Service of Ukraine clarified that the hit Tu-95 was regularly involved in massive missile strikes on Ukrainian cities. According to the special service, after the attack the plane received critical damage, which effectively put it out of action.

As reported, on the night of Thursday, July 16, the Saratov region of Russia came under a massive drone attack . The cities of Engels and Saratov were under attack, in particular the Engels-2 military airfield and an electrical substation.
