Drones from the Security Service of Ukraine struck the Bashneft-UNPZ oil refinery in Bashkortostan (Russia), located approximately 1,400 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported this, as reported by Obshchestvennoye .
Ufa is one of the largest oil refining centers in Russia, which supplies the Russian army with fuel and lubricants.
Following the explosions, firefighting equipment arrived at the plant, and a column of black smoke rose above the facility. According to preliminary reports, the fire originated near the ELOU-AVT-6 unit, which processes crude oil.
“Such strikes demonstrate that there are no safe places deep in Russia’s rear. The SBU can reach any facilities involved in the war against Ukraine,” noted an informed source.
This is the third SBU strike on oil refineries in Bashkortostan in the past month. On September 18 and 24, long-range Ukrainian drones struck the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat refinery.
It was previously reported that the operation to destroy part of the refinery’s facilities was carried out by Ukrainian Special Operations Forces jointly with the Black Spark rebel movement . This is the third time this year that the Kirishi refinery has been attacked. Each time, the consequences for Russian oil refining are becoming increasingly painful.
As a reminder, Ukrainian drones caused record damage to Russia’s oil refining industry, knocking out nearly 38% of primary oil refining capacity.
On October 2 , powerful explosions were heard in Russia’s Perm Krai : drones struck a branch of the Uralchem plant’s Azot plant in the city of Berezniki, located 1,700 km from the Ukrainian border.
Earlier, SBU drones struck Russia’s largest oil terminal, Primorsk, in the Baltic Sea, halting oil shipments.
