The SBU prevented a terrorist attack by Russian special services in Kyiv. On the evening of July 23, a woman tried to blow up a cafe in the center of the capital, Kyiv.

This was reported by the press service of the SBU.

To commit the crime, the Russian agent planned to leave two homemade explosive devices in the coffee shop with a total capacity of almost 1.5 kg of TNT equivalent.

It is noted that Russian special forces planned to remotely blow up both SVPs during the evening rush hour in order to kill the maximum number of people.

SBU officers uncovered the hostile plot and detained the suspect “red-handed” when she entered a cafe with SVP hidden in a bag.

The investigation established that the Russian order was carried out by a Kyiv woman, whom the occupiers recruited to commit a terrorist attack, convincing her that she was supposed to carry out an SBU task.

“It is documented that she received from a Russian curator the geolocation of the site of the planned terrorist attack, where she was supposed to leave the explosives,” the Security Service noted.

The agent’s phone was seized, containing evidence of her contacts with the occupiers. The question of the qualification of her actions is currently being resolved.

As a reminder, in Kharkiv, the SBU detained a former actor who worked for Russian special services and helped coordinate missile strikes on the city.

As reported, Ukrainian security forces prevented large-scale attacks prepared by Russian intelligence. In several regions of the country , a network of agents preparing sabotage against military personnel was exposed . In total, six suspects were detained who were trying to carry out terrorist attacks using improvised explosive devices.
