SBU reported 75 convictions for publishing air defense work and the consequences of shelling

In Ukraine, since the beginning of 2026, courts have sentenced 75 people for illegally distributing photos and videos that revealed the location and movement of Ukrainian military personnel, the work of air defense, and the consequences of Russian attacks.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the intelligence service, these are publications from which the enemy can determine the positions of the Defense Forces, the location of air defense assets, as well as the results of strikes on ground objects and air targets.

In particular, last week, SBU officers exposed three local residents in Kyiv who published information about the positions of Ukrainian air defense.

All three were charged under Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine with unauthorized dissemination of information about the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations. They face up to eight years in prison.

The SBU emphasizes that the publication of such materials can help the Russian military identify targets and adjust repeated strikes. In addition, the enemy uses this footage for its own propaganda.

Law enforcement officers urge Ukrainians not to film or publish the work of air defense, the locations of hits on military facilities and critical infrastructure, as well as the movement of military equipment and personnel of the Defense Forces.

If citizens have information about such violations or receive suspicious offers from representatives of the Russian Federation, the SBU is asked to report this by calling 1516, by email 1516@ssu.gov.ua, or via the “Burn the FSB Officer” chatbot.
