Drones of the Security Service of Ukraine hit a Russian reconnaissance aircraft before blowing up a Russian submarine in the port of Novorossiysk.

The SBU reported this .

The special services have revealed new details of the submarine bombing. In particular, an important stage of the special operation was the disabling of a modernized Il-38N reconnaissance aircraft at the Yeisk airbase.

“This aircraft is designed for maritime reconnaissance, submarine search, water area control, minelaying, and torpedo strikes,” the report says.

The Russians have been actively using this aircraft to counter naval drones. The cost of the damaged vessel is estimated at $24 million.

As the SBU emphasized, in the Black Sea the enemy had only one aircraft capable of detecting drones heading towards the target. And its incapacitation allowed the main part of the special operation to be successfully carried out.

At the same time, a modern drone with a ground-based explosive warhead equipped with two thousand destructive elements was used to strike the plane.

The explosion occurred above the main equipment and radar compartment. The aircraft’s engine was also damaged.

“The released footage of a successful attack on a Russian plane clearly demonstrates the real level of security of enemy strategic facilities, which differs significantly from internal reports and public statements by the Russian Ministry of Defense,” the SBU concluded.

It was previously reported that the Security Service of Ukraine conducted a unique operation, using drones to hit a submarine in a Russian port.
