Scandal after the show “Supermom”: the prosecutor hid the luxury house and expenses that his wife showed to the whole country

The prosecutors’ qualification and disciplinary commission filed for the dismissal of Alexander Maleev after his wife showed the family’s luxurious lifestyle on the TV show “Supermom”, which was not reflected in the declarations. The official hid elite housing, rental costs and other expensive expenses, in particular – his wife’s childbirth in the United States.

Deputy Head of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor’s Office, Oleksandr Maleyev, found himself at the center of an anti-corruption scandal due to an unexpected source — the popular reality show “Supermama,” in which his wife, Anna Maleyev, participated.

In the episode, she showed a house in Buch, with an area of 130 m², the rent of which, according to journalists, costs about $3,000 per month. The prosecutor did not indicate this property in the declaration. Moreover, Hanna admitted that she did not know the cost of the rent and was “not interested” in this issue.

The journalists added that this is not the only case of inconsistencies:

• The program also featured the prosecutor’s ex-wife, Tetyana Maleeva, who said on the air that the prosecutor rents an apartment for her and the children for UAH 15,000 and pays an additional UAH 30,000 each month. These expenses were also not declared.
• The prosecutor’s current wife gave birth in the US, and although she claims she only paid for the flight, the costs of the birth and accommodation, she says, were covered by the US government. These facts are also missing from Maleev’s declaration.

According to the 2024 declaration, the prosecutor indicated significant real estate:

• Apartments in Odessa (28.9 m², 43.7 m², 73.4 m²) and Kyiv (48.3 m²), non-residential premises (101.7 m²),
• In April 2025, the construction of a new apartment (90 m²) in Odessa will be completed.

Also declared cars:

• HYUNDAI SANTA FE (2013, jointly with ex-wife),
• FORD FIESTA (2013, for rent),
• NISSAN TEANA (2008, for wife).

Maleev’s income for 2024 was UAH 1,344,098, plus UAH 15,052 in insurance payments. He keeps UAH 562,478 in accounts and $2,500 in cash.

After media coverage, the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Prosecutors filed for Maleev’s dismissal. The situation became even more scandalous, given that the rented house is located on the territory of a nature reserve fund, where construction is prohibited, and it is the Environmental Prosecutor’s Office that is responsible for monitoring such violations.
