Scandal in Kyiv region: platoon commander sold air defense equipment

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation, together with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in the Kyiv region, exposed the platoon commander of one of the military units of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This was reported by the press center of the State Bureau of Investigation.

It is noted that the suspect appropriated equipment that was used for combat duty and protection of the airspace of the Kyiv region.

Instead of providing the unit with the necessary equipment, the military sold it. Among the stolen items were stationary computers, monitors of various sizes, and tablets with mobile Internet access. This equipment was to be used by mobile groups to repel enemy attacks.

“Currently, the serviceman has been reported on suspicion of misappropriation of military property with abuse of official position under martial law (Part 4, Article 410 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the post says.

The sanction of the article provides for up to 15 years in prison.

As a reminder, employees of the State Bureau of Investigation reported new suspicions to the head of the food service of one of the military units as part of the investigation into the corruption scheme of supplying food to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk region. This concerns illegal enrichment and legalization of property obtained by criminal means.

As reported, the State Bureau of Investigation has completed a pre-trial investigation into the deputy commander of one of the battalions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who served in the Sumy region . The indictment has already been sent to court, and the officer faces up to 12 years in prison.
