Scandal in the US: Suspect in Kirk’s murder questioned and released

American law enforcement authorities have detained a man suspected of involvement in the shooting that killed prominent ultraconservative activist Charlie Kirk. However, he was released after questioning.

This was reported by FBI Director Kesh Patel.

“The suspect in today’s tragic incident involving the death of Charlie Kirk has now been arrested. We are grateful to Utah law enforcement for their cooperation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation,” Patel said.

He also promised that the FBI would provide updates on the case as new information becomes available.

As of 03:29 local time, the investigation only has CCTV footage. According to Patel, the attacker was likely operating from a rooftop and was wearing dark clothing.

Updated information at 04:00 indicates that the detainee was released after initial questioning – the investigation is ongoing.

Charles (Charlie) James Kirk is an American conservative commentator, founder and host of The Charlie Kirk Show. He is closely associated with Donald Trump’s political circle and has repeatedly voiced sharp criticism of US support for Ukraine.

In particular, he condemned military aid to Kyiv and accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of unwillingness to seek compromises with Russia.

Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist, founder of Turning Point USA, and close ally of President Donald Trump, was shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University. This attack marked the 46th school shooting in the United States this year.
