Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces Robert Brovdy, call sign “Magyar”, responded to the statements of Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy regarding the effectiveness of protecting the city from Russian drones and urged not to criticize the military.
This is evidenced by a corresponding post on the military’s social networks.
According to him, during the massive attack on March 24, Russia launched 556 drones, and only 15 of them reached their targets – that’s about 3%.
“There is no such size of a rocket launcher in the city hall… there is no such air defense on planet Earth that, with the hands of Warriors… wipes out 95-97% of attacking drones. Although, of course, there is something to work on… But you are not to blame those who shoot down day and night. Take care of people, less blunders. And we will work in the sky,” said Magyar.
He also emphasized that since the beginning of the year, there has not been a single day without drone launches from the Russian side, sometimes exceeding 400–500 per day, but most of them are shot down by Ukrainian forces.
The commander urged Sadovy to refrain from making public remarks about the military:
“But why are they, Russian drones, actually flying to Lviv? I’m sorry, but that evening reproach of yours or the buyer’s complaint… stop it, please,” he added.
Earlier, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said after the attack that he had “a lot of questions,” given that the city constantly purchases aid for the military.
“I have a lot of questions for everyone… we buy drones, anti-drone systems every day… we spend the lion’s share of the budget on supporting the military,” he said.
Sadovy later clarified that his words were emotional and apologized. He emphasized that he respects the air defense forces and the military, and that decisions on the use of equipment are made by specialists.
“My reaction… was emotional and inappropriate. At that moment, I was standing in front of a burning building and seeing the aftermath of the attack,” the mayor explained.
Recall that on Tuesday, March 24, Russian occupation forces attacked Lviv with the help of strike drones.
As reported, 26 victims with varying degrees of severity are in city hospitals , and doctors are providing them with the necessary assistance.
