Scandal with Fedorov’s dismissal: one of the “servant” people’s deputies resigns

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, Mykyta Poturayev, announced that he is resigning from his duties as a People’s Deputy early. He has already submitted a corresponding application to the Speaker of the Parliament.

Poturayev announced this during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada.

According to him, he asks the parliament to consider the issue of early termination of his parliamentary powers as soon as possible.

“I have submitted an application to resign from my powers as a people’s deputy. I would ask my colleagues in the Verkhovna Rada to consider this, if possible, as urgently as they are considering other decisions that forced me to make such a decision for myself,” Poturayev said.

The MP did not explain the reasons for his decision during his speech.

Mykyta Poturayev was elected to the Verkhovna Rada of the 9th convocation in 2019 on the list of the Servant of the People party. He currently heads the parliamentary Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, and also heads the permanent delegation of the Verkhovna Rada to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

Now the issue of early termination of his parliamentary powers must be considered by the Verkhovna Rada and a corresponding resolution must be adopted.

As a reminder, the Servant of the People faction announced who they plan to re-appoint to the new Cabinet of Ministers, which, according to preliminary data, may be headed by Serhiy Koretsky. Meanwhile , Mykhailo Fedorov confirmed that he is leaving the post of Minister of Defense and summed up the results of his work.
