The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, said that the situation with the publication of a client’s photo during bank verification will be investigated. This is a photo that was published by the co-founder of monobank, Oleg Horohovsky.
The Ombudsman reported this on Telegram.
Lubinets stated that proceedings and an investigation have been initiated.
“I reacted to the situation immediately — proceedings were opened and an investigation into the circumstances of a possible violation of the legislation on the protection of personal data and banking secrecy was initiated,” the post says.
He emphasized that admitting a mistake does not absolve one from responsibility.
“I emphasize that personal data cannot become a tool of public pressure or humiliation. The law is the same for everyone, and its violation cannot be justified by emotions or public outcry,” he said.
Lubinets also promised to provide additional information about the results of the inspection and further steps.
Let us remind you that the other day, a post by the co-founder of monobank went viral on the social network Threads, in which he published a photo of a bank client taken during verification, in which a flag similar to the Russian one is visible behind the girl.
