Starting from September 1, 2025, the size of presidential academic scholarships for pupils, students and postgraduates will increase significantly in Ukraine. The government made the corresponding decision by approving amendments to the resolution. Although the increase applies only to this prestigious category of scholarships, experts emphasize the need to review the size and regular payments.

This was announced by the People’s Deputy from “European Solidarity” Oleksiy Goncharenko.

It is noted that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved amendments to the current resolution, which provide for a significant increase in the size of presidential academic scholarships. The new payments will begin to take effect on September 1, 2025, which will be a significant incentive for the most successful pupils and students.

According to the updated norms, the presidential scholarship for students of vocational (vocational and technical) education institutions will be UAH 6,320 per month. College and technical school students will receive UAH 7,600, university students – UAH 10,000, and postgraduate students – UAH 23,700.

The government emphasizes that this refers specifically to presidential academic scholarships , which are awarded to a limited number of the best students for special achievements in education or science.

At the same time, Honcharenko recalled that most students in Ukraine receive regular academic or social scholarships, the amounts of which remain significantly lower. Therefore, the increase should affect not only the prestigious presidential scholarships, but also basic payments, so that support covers a wider range of young people.

Recall that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law introducing mandatory military training for students of medical institutions of higher education.
