Scotland has stated its readiness to send peacekeepers to Ukraine, subject to a fair peace agreement.

Scotland is prepared to consider sending its troops to Ukraine as part of a peacekeeping force if a peace agreement is reached that meets the interests of the Ukrainian people.

This was stated by the First Minister of Scotland and leader of the Scottish National Party, John Swinney.

According to him, the participation of Scottish troops is possible only on the condition that a future peace agreement is acceptable to Ukraine and provides for an international military deployment to ensure security and maintain peace.

Swinney stressed that Russia’s aggression must be stopped and Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence must be protected, emphasizing his support for such steps as part of international efforts.

As a reminder, UK Defence Secretary John Gilli stated that his country is ready to send its troops to Ukraine , but only after peace is achieved. The country has already identified military units it could send to Ukraine and is prepared to deploy them quickly following a potential peace agreement.

It is known that France, Germany and Turkey have declared their readiness to send a peacekeeping contingent to Ukraine after the war.

Incidentally, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated the United States’ readiness to deploy its troops to Ukraine once peace is achieved.
