Today, August 29, emergency search operations were completed in Kyiv at the site where Russian missiles hit a residential building. As a result of the attack, 23 people died, including 4 children.

This was reported by the Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko.

He noted that the search and rescue operations lasted more than 30 hours. During this time, rescuers had already dismantled the main bulk of the structures of the destroyed house to make sure that there were no more people under the rubble.

“Unfortunately, during the attack on Kyiv, 23 people could not be saved, including 4 children. The youngest girl was only 2 years old. Some bodies have not yet been identified, 8 people have not contacted their relatives. Investigators and experts are carefully examining each of the facts,” Klimenko said.

The State Emergency Service workers freed 17 people, including four children, from under the rubble.

The total number of victims exceeded 50 people. Everyone is receiving assistance, including in restoring documents and recording damaged property – more than 1.1 thousand applications have already been accepted.

Emergency recovery work is currently ongoing so that residents of the surviving apartments can quickly collect their belongings.

Since yesterday night, thousands of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system have been working at the sites of enemy attacks in Kyiv, replacing each other every few hours. Aviation and hundreds of units of equipment, including works, were involved.

Let us recall that on the night of August 28, Kiev was subjected to one of the largest attacks in recent months . Russian troops simultaneously used attack drones, ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as hypersonic “Daggers”, which led to large-scale destruction in several areas of the city. By the morning, four people were reported dead, including two children, and more than two dozen people were injured.

The day before it became known that the number of people killed in Kiev as a result of a combined attack by Russian troops on the night of August 28 had risen to 17. It was subsequently reported that the number of victims of the Russian missile attack on Kiev had risen to 19, including four children .
