The UK is already helping Ukraine carry out strikes on Russian territory at Washington’s request. The US is preparing to step up intelligence sharing to support attacks on Russian energy infrastructure, sources said.
This is reported by the Financial Times.
According to journalists, Ukraine is increasing cooperation with NATO in the field of intelligence and long-range strikes. Britain is already participating in relevant operations, while the United States plans to expand its role, providing Kyiv with new data to map the Russian air defense system and plan routes for strikes with drones and long-range missiles.
White House sources say that US President Donald Trump has ordered government agencies to prepare for intelligence sharing. One of the people said the decision was a “seismic shift in sentiment” in Trump’s inner circle.
At the same time, the American leader remains opposed to direct funding of aid to Ukraine from taxpayers’ money. He believes that NATO allies should purchase weapons from Washington and only then transfer them to Kyiv.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that he discussed the possibility of transferring Tomahawk cruise missiles during his meeting with Trump at the European Political Community summit in Copenhagen. According to him, the negotiations were “very productive”, but the final decision depends on the head of the White House.
Washington is also pushing for more active involvement of allies in intelligence. Britain is already providing support to Kyiv in carrying out individual strikes on Russian territory.
By the way, the US President’s special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, stated that Donald Trump has authorized Ukraine’s right to strike at territory deep inside Russia . This decision is also supported by leading representatives of the American administration.
Earlier, US Vice President J.D. Vance reported that discussions are ongoing in Washington regarding the possible supply of Tomahawk precision cruise missiles to Ukraine , but the final decision on this issue depends on President Donald Trump.
As is known, Ukraine has repeatedly asked the US to transfer long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles, but the White House has not yet agreed. At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that the presence of Tomahawks in the hands of the Armed Forces of Ukraine could force the Kremlin to sit down at the negotiating table .
As reported, on Thursday, October 2, powerful explosions were heard in the Perm region of the Russian Federation. The drones hit the Azot branch of the Uralkhim plant in the city of Berezniki . It is located approximately 1,700 km from the Ukrainian border.
