Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russian strike drones are using the territory of Belarus to bypass Ukrainian interceptors. According to him, the situation poses a serious problem and requires an appropriate response from Ukraine.

He said this while talking to journalists.

Zelenskyy made the announcement after a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Headquarters, which was dedicated to the use of drones and air defense. The president was answering questions from journalists on Friday.

The meeting, in particular, discussed the air attack on Kovel. The Head of State noted that the Russian side is trying to bypass Ukrainian interception lines, which have already demonstrated effectiveness.

“We also talked about Kovel. The problem is that they see our interceptor lines, which we work well with, and want to bypass them. They bypass them thanks to, by the way, Belarus and Belarusian land. And technically thanks to Belarus as well,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The President emphasized that this situation requires a response from Ukraine. He announced that he had set appropriate tasks, the implementation of which would be checked during the next meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Headquarters.

Zelensky also emphasized that Ukraine is preparing specific steps to neutralize the threat associated with Russia’s use of drones involving the territory of Belarus.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Russia has practically completed the transfer of medium-range ballistic missiles “Oreshnik” to the territory of Belarus , and this poses a direct danger to a number of European countries. At the same time, sanctions against the production of these missiles have not yet been introduced.

As a reminder, the Russian Oreshnik missile system has entered combat duty on the territory of Belarus.

As reported, Russia has no intention of giving up its goals regarding the occupied territories of Ukraine and is ready to achieve them both diplomatically and militarily.
