“Servant of the People” and the Mindich scandal: the escape episode went viral due to a strange coincidence

In the sixteenth episode of the second season of the series “Servant of the People”, an episode was noticed that unexpectedly resembles the current corruption scandal surrounding the co-owner of “Kvartal-95” Timur Mindich.

According to the plot, one of the main antagonists, corrupt official Yuriy Ivanovich Chuyko, is trying to escape Ukraine after being released from pre-trial detention center as a result of agreements with President Vasyl Holoborodko. To avoid prosecution, the hero takes on a different identity and new documents, which indicate the surname “Mindych”, and plans to flee to Israel.

This episode, which was released at the end of 2017, is currently being actively discussed on social networks in the context of an investigation involving a real business partner of “Kvartal-95”.

As a reminder, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court in absentia chose a preventive measure in the form of arrest for businessman and suspect of participation in a corruption scheme Timur Mindich.
