“Shahed” attacked the TV channel during a live broadcast: the “We are Ukraine” building was destroyed

A Russian strike drone attacked the building of the “We are Ukraine” TV channel in Kyiv while journalists were on air. The attack partially damaged the building, started a fire, and at least five people were injured.

This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to him, the attack happened in the middle of the day. At the time of the attack, the channel’s journalists were working on air.

“Today, Russia struck at the media, at journalists. A strike drone attacked the building of the “We are Ukraine” TV channel for the “United News” telethon. Just in the middle of the day. Right when the journalists were on the air,” Zelensky wrote.

The TV channel building is partially destroyed. The necessary services are working on the site, and rescuers from the State Emergency Service have already extinguished the fire.

As of now, five people are known to have been injured. At the same time, the president noted that their number could still increase.

Zelensky called the attack “a new page in Russian degradation” and called on Europe and the world to respond to the attack on Ukrainian journalists.

“Shaheeds against the media is a new page in Russian degradation, and there must definitely be a reaction from Europe and the world to this,” the president emphasized.

He also stated that no Russian attack on Ukraine and Ukrainians should go unpunished.

“Russia must be stopped, and this is possible only through joint efforts,” Zelensky stressed.

As a reminder, on the night of Tuesday, September 8, Russian occupation forces attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles . Destruction and fires were recorded in at least five districts of the capital, residential and non-residential buildings, as well as an educational institution, were damaged. Two people were killed and 7 injured.
