During a hearing of the US House Armed Services Committee on June 12, a scuffle broke out between California Democrat Salud Carbajal and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

This was reported by Axios.

It was reported that Carbajal questioned Hegseth about troop deployments in Los Angeles, the leak of information from the Signal chat, and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

During the heated exchange, the congressman told the Defense Secretary to “get out of the Pentagon.”

“You are a disgrace to this country. Bipartisan members of Congress have called for your resignation. You should just leave and let someone competent run this department,” the Democrat stated.

The publication notes that Hegseth has previously faced tensions during Senate committee hearings, including issues related to delays in the Pentagon’s budget proposal, the Trump administration’s support for Ukraine, and the president’s focus on Greenland.
As a reminder, the White House cannot find a new Pentagon chief of staff and advisors for US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth after a series of missteps.
