Ukraine is preparing the next meeting in the “Ramstein” format, which will take place on December 3.

This was announced by Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal after a video conference with the heads of defense ministries of the E5 countries.

During the meeting, he stressed that strengthening air defense remains a key priority for Ukraine. The minister informed partners about the massive Russian attack on civilian and critical infrastructure and stated that Ukraine is counting on additional air defense systems and interceptor missiles.

Shmyhal emphasized the importance of obtaining long-range weapons, as the combination of strikes on military and energy facilities along with sanctions could increase pressure on Russia and force it to seek diplomatic solutions.

The minister also reported that partners have confirmed their readiness to increase defense support for Ukraine. In particular, Germany plans to provide 12 billion euros in aid in 2026 and 9 billion in 2027. The head of the German Ministry of Defense, Boris Pistorius, stated his readiness to increase supplies of air defense, ammunition, and drones, and also announced a new contribution to the PURL mechanism.

During the talks, the participants discussed the financing of the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Shmyhal noted that part of the recent tranche of the EU of 6 billion euros will be directed to strengthening defense.

It was previously reported that Ukraine and the European Commission are working on launching a reparations loan.

We will remind you that Germany has increased its aid to Ukraine by a record amount .
