Ukraine confirms Flamingo long-range missile successfully strikes targets in Russia

Ukraine has been testing its domestically produced long-range Flamingo missile in combat, reports ZN.UA military columnist Vitaliy Kononuchenko.

It is noted that the weapon first passed the testing stage and was then launched into production.

During production, attention was focused on three key points — range, warhead size, and rapid deployment and launch capabilities.

In this way, the missile will be able to hit targets at distances that were previously inaccessible.

In particular, combat applications have already proven the effectiveness of the weapon, hitting targets on Russian territory.

Also, during the presentation of the government’s action program, Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal confirmed that production of the Flamingo missile has been launched.

“As for the details, yesterday everyone saw, in principle, the key details. This is a powerful weapon. Long-range, very powerful. And it is there. These are the key details, and we will find out everything else when the right moment comes,” said the head of the Ministry of Defense.

Earlier, it became known that Ukraine received at its disposal a new generation cruise missile called “Flamingo”. Its range is 3,000 km, and the warhead weighs one ton — this is twice as powerful as the American Tomahawk.
