Shooting in Kyiv: RDK commander spoke about the search of Kaplunov’s apartment

During a search of the apartment of Stepan Kaplunov, deputy commander for combat operations of the Russian Volunteer Corps, law enforcement officers did not find any suspicious or compromising items. The search took place against the backdrop of the FSB investigation into the terrorist attack, during which a shootout occurred in Kyiv between representatives of the SBU and soldiers of one of the Defense Forces units.

This was reported by Channel 5, citing a comment by the commander of the RDK, Denis Kapustin.

Kapustin said he was personally present during the search of Kaplunov’s apartment. According to him, law enforcement officers did not find any suspicious or compromising items there.

After the investigation was completed, representatives of the State Security Service remained in the apartment. They are waiting for a master to install a new lock, as the law enforcement officers broke the door during the search.

At the same time, Kapustin did not report where Kaplunov is now. The RDK commander also did not clarify the condition of the wounded soldiers or say what exactly the SBU officers were looking for.

Earlier, the SBU reported that during investigative actions within the framework of the investigation of the terrorist attack , organized by the FSB of the Russian Federation, a group of individuals attacked the operational-investigative group of the special service and blocked the passage of law enforcement officers with cars.

To stop the armed resistance, the SBU involved the “Alpha” special unit. Law enforcement officers used weapons, as a result of which several people were injured. The attackers were detained.

The SBU stated that the detainees belong to one of the units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, the RDK previously announced the kidnapping of Kaplunov. According to media reports, the FSB could be preparing a terrorist attack against him.
