Shooting in Kyiv’s Svyatoshyn district: police detain man, he faces up to seven years in prison
In Kyiv, law enforcement officers have detained a man suspected of shooting in the Sviatoshynskyi district of the capital. No one was injured in the incident, and investigators have opened a criminal case under the article about hooliganism.

According to law enforcement officials, on the afternoon of May 1, the police received a report that an unknown man in a Volkswagen Caddy had fired several shots on Mriya Street.
Operatives of the Svyatoshynskyi police department located the suspect and detained him in one of the villages of the Kyiv region. The detainee turned out to be a 46-year-old resident of the Kyiv region.
During a search of the car, law enforcement officers did not find any weapons.
Investigators have initiated criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – hooliganism. The sanction of the article provides for up to 7 years of imprisonment.
Currently, law enforcement officers are continuing their investigation and establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
It was previously reported that on Friday, May 1, a shooting occurred in the Svyatoshynskyi district of Kyiv . Law enforcement officers announced a special police operation to search for the shooter.
As a reminder, on April 18, a man opened fire on passersby in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. Seven people were killed and 14 more were injured.
