Oleshky Ceasefire: Lubinets Reports First Results of Agreements

A ceasefire that came into effect at 03:00 on October 27 in the temporarily occupied city of Oleshky, Kherson region, remains in place, with no reported violations. Ukraine and Russia are adhering to the agreements, while specialists are clearing roads to enable humanitarian aid deliveries and the evacuation of local residents.

The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, announced this during a telethon.

He said no incident has been recorded since the start of the ceasefire. Russian troops have also not attempted to advance, capture islands, or improve their positions.

Demining of the roads leading to Oleshky is currently underway. Once the work is complete, the town plans to receive water, food, medicine, and necessary equipment for the local hospital.

The next step will be to organize the departure of people who want to leave the city. According to Lubinets, residents can choose whether to go to territory controlled by Ukraine or Russia.

They are also preparing assistance for those who decide to stay in Oleshky.

Special attention is being paid to the elderly, residents with limited mobility, and those needing urgent medical care. For them, the need for special transport and ambulances is determined.

Lubinets said that the Ukrainian and Russian sides are collecting citizens’ appeals and compiling lists of people who need help.

After the roads are demineralized, representatives of Ukraine, the United States, and Russia will join the humanitarian mission on the ground. The American side will also monitor the implementation of the agreements.

The Ombudsman added that from October 23 to 27, the parties fulfilled all obligations stipulated in the previous stages of preparation of the humanitarian operation.

As previously reported, a large-scale regime of silence began in southern Ukraine on October 27 at 03:00, which will last until November 1. The initiative is associated with US First Lady Melania Trump’s efforts to unblock the temporarily occupied Oleshky.
