Since the beginning of the day, 68 battles have taken place on the front

Since the beginning of the day on Saturday, August 16, 68 military clashes have been recorded on the Russian-Ukrainian front.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this as of 16:00.

The enemy carried out more attacks in the Pokrovsky direction – 26. The defense forces repelled 24 assaults, two more battles are ongoing. Active battles are also being conducted in the Kupyansky, Limansky and Novopavlovsky directions.

There have been 14 attacks by Russian troops on Limanskoye, two clashes are ongoing. On Kupyanskoye, Ukrainian soldiers have repelled 6 out of 9 assaults, the fighting is ongoing. On the Novopavlovskoye direction, the enemy has made 8 attacks, half of which our defenders have repelled.

Enemy airstrikes were recorded on the settlements of Belogorie, Preobrazhenka, Orekhov and Kazachye. Border communities of Sumy region, in particular Boyaro-Lezhachi, Semeykino, Belaya Bereza, Shalygino, Khodyno, Bobilovka and Belokopytovo, came under artillery fire.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces report certain successes in certain locations and emphasize that the defense continues to hold its positions.
