In the Polish city of Radom, a group of men attacked a young Ukrainian citizen after hearing his Ukrainian accent. The incident occurred on May 8 in the city center, and the case is currently being investigated by Polish law enforcement.
This is reported by RMF24.
It is noted that at first several men approached the Ukrainian and asked for a cigarette. Hearing that he spoke with a foreign accent, they began to behave aggressively and forced him to sing a Polish song.
When the boy made a mistake in his words, the attackers began to humiliate and insult him because of his nationality. Eyewitnesses say that the conflict quickly escalated into violence.
Later, the men began to push the Ukrainian and demand to hand over his phone and jacket. The victim tried to defend himself, but fell to the ground, after which the attackers began to kick him, including in the head.
According to the investigation, the attack stopped only after passers-by appeared nearby.
As a result of the beating, the Ukrainian man suffered head and facial injuries, numerous bruises and abrasions, and a dislocated shoulder.
Polish police have already identified three participants in the attack, and another man is currently being sought. One of the suspects is 22 years old. He has pleaded not guilty and denies his involvement in the attack. However, another person involved in the case, a 36-year-old man, has pleaded guilty and testified against his accomplices.
Investigators have classified the attack as attempted robbery, assault, and insult on national grounds. One of the suspects could face up to 15 years in prison.
As a reminder, in Wroclaw on April 26, two men attacked a Ukrainian man with a knife who was selling his car.
