Slight warming and icy surprises: weekly forecast

A warm, wet, and windy “European” winter will arrive in Ukraine next week. The snow will gradually give way to thaw, and the days will become noticeably brighter.
From Monday, January 26, Ukraine is expected to experience significant warming and a change in weather conditions, forecaster Natalka Didenko reported on her Facebook page. According to her, the winter will be typically European: warm, humid, and windy.
Currently, the anticyclone is still supporting cold weather, but from the beginning of the new week it will give way to Atlantic cyclones. These atmospheric fronts will bring light snow, temperature fluctuations, and increased pressure, said forecaster Vitaly Postrygan.
According to his forecast, the temperature background will increase by 5–7 degrees, and icy roads will remain for some time. Cyclonic activity over the Mediterranean Sea will increase, which will further affect weather conditions in Ukraine.
In addition, Postrygan reminded that by the end of January, the length of daylight hours will increase by about an hour compared to December. Although winter is still ongoing, the abnormal cold is already behind us, and Ukrainians can expect noticeable warming and brighter days.
