Slovakia threatens Ukraine over attacks on Druzhba oil pipeline

Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar said that Ukraine’s attacks on the Russian Druzhba oil pipeline not only contradict Bratislava’s interests, but also harm Kyiv.

This was reported by the TVnoviny publication.

Blanar assured that he had already discussed the attacks with the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andriy Sybiga.

According to him, the Slovak refinery Slovnaft, which processes Russian oil, is a supplier of diesel fuel to Ukraine. The minister added that the plant covers 10% of the monthly consumption of Ukrainians.

He assured that Sibiga had taken his remarks into account.

“We understand that it is difficult for Ukraine, but for us this infrastructure is very important, especially when we see that Ukraine itself is harming its own interests, because it risks not having enough fuel on its side. Our national interest lies in protecting these supplies,” Blanar emphasized.

It is worth noting that Ukrainian drones hit a strategic facility on Russian territory – an oil pumping station in the city of Unecha, Bryansk region . The facility is part of the Druzhba oil pipeline system.

Later, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó again announced the attack on the Druzhba oil pipeline , which caused the halt in the supply of Russian oil to his country.

By the way, the Foreign Ministers of Hungary and Slovakia called on the EU to guarantee the energy security of the union’s member states through strikes on Russia.
