Slovakia will unblock the 18th package of EU sanctions against Russia – Fico

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said that his country will unblock the adoption of the 18th package of EU sanctions against Russia.
He announced this on his Facebook page.
According to Fico, Slovakia has received written guarantees from the European Commission regarding the price of gas and its possible shortage. Therefore, his country will unblock the introduction of new sanctions against Russia.
At the same time, he added that he would never support the proposal to stop importing Russian gas after January 1, 2028.
It should be noted that the vote on the implementation of EU sanctions against Russia is scheduled to take place on Friday, July 18.
Earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico announced that his country would not support the 18th package of European Union sanctions against the Russian Federation unless the gas plan is revised.
