Slovakian President Announces Visit to Ukraine

Slovak President Peter Pellegrini announced preparations for his visit to Kyiv and expressed hope that it would be meaningful.

He stated this in an interview with the Slovak TV channel STVR.

According to the head of state, he informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about his intentions to visit Kyiv during their meeting at the Vilnius summit last week. Pellegrini noted that he asked the Ukrainian side to fill the upcoming visit with concrete content so that it would not only be a protocol trip. He expressed hope that during the meetings it would be possible to achieve positive results for both countries and demonstrate good will for cooperation.

The President also positively assessed the prospects for Ukraine’s development after the end of the war, noting the importance of good-neighborly relations. He emphasized that Ukraine’s proximity to Slovakia and the European Union opens up opportunities to overcome regional imbalances and create new impetus for the development of both Ukraine and Slovakia’s border regions.
