Ukrposhta CEO Igor Smilyansky will continue to perform his duties in full, despite the National Bank of Ukraine’s demand for his removal.
This is stated in the company’s official statement.
Ukrposhta noted that the company is operating normally, despite the security situation, the consequences of Russian shelling, and difficult weather conditions.
“We ask that you rely solely on official communications from JSC Ukrposhta regarding the company’s activities or its management,” the company noted.
Igor Smilyansky himself also released a statement on his social media. He thanked everyone who showed him support and posted a photo of himself wearing a T-shirt with the slogan: “The game doesn’t end when you lose. The game ends when you give up.”
“I understand those who waited and still wait for the winner. It’s normal to be with the winner. To those who saw me off before my time and to my haters—I don’t even know what to say. But now is not your day. And the funds for paid articles and bots would be better spent on the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” he wrote.
Several days earlier, the National Bank of Ukraine announced that Igor Smilyanskyi did not meet the requirements for professional suitability and ordered Ukrposhta to remove him from his position within five working days and appoint a new leader within two months.
Smelyansky himself linked the regulator’s decision to the company’s plans to create a postal bank.
As a reminder, the National Bank of Ukraine has declared Ihor Smilyansky, CEO of JSC Ukrposhta, unfit for professional service. The company must replace him in accordance with the regulator’s decision.
