Snape, Quidditch and a troll: what was shown in the first official trailer for the Harry Potter series

HBO has released the first full-length trailer for the upcoming series based on J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books.
The video lasts over two and a half minutes. Viewers are shown the main characters’ training at Hogwarts. Also, the footage shows Professor Snape, who is traditionally unhappy with Harry’s behavior, a game of Quidditch, as well as a scene of confrontation with a troll on Halloween night.
The role of Harry Potter in the series will be played by Dominic McLaughlin, Hermione by Arabella Stanton, Professor Dumbledore by John Lithgow, Professor McGonagall by Janet McTeer, and Professor Snape by Paapa Essieda.
The first season of the Harry Potter series will be released on HBO Max on Christmas 2026.
The series has already been renewed for a second season.
Plans to reboot the Harry Potter universe were announced in the spring of 2023. The series will consist of seven seasons – the number of books.
