Social tension is increasing in Russia ahead of the State Duma elections, says political expert

As political expert Taras Zagorodny notes , against the backdrop of Ukraine’s attacks on Russian refineries and the largest marketplace Wildberries, social tension is increasing and protest sentiments are forming within the Russian Federation. These processes are becoming especially noticeable on the eve of the Duma elections scheduled for the fall.

“The question naturally arises about the presence of people in Russia who can lead these protests. We are observing a paradoxical picture: right now in Russia there is a mass force whose actions, whether you like it or not, contribute to the weakening of the Putin regime in exactly the configuration that is beneficial to Ukraine. And this force is not liberal-relocants, but the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the left movement.

It would seem that the Communist Party of the Russian Federation is an orthodox supporter of the “Russian world.” But statistics and actions of communists on the ground indicate the opposite. From the very beginning of the full-scale invasion, it was the Communist Party of the Russian Federation factions in regional parliaments and Komsomol cells that demonstrated the most high-profile examples of direct sabotage.

Few people know that the assistant to the State Duma deputy from the Communist Party of the Soviet Union Oleg Mikhailov, Volodymyr Yevstigneev, died while planning a partisan action against the refinery. Of course, when he was liquidated, he was accused of working for the Ukrainian special services. But the communists Mykola Bondarenko, Mykhailo Matveyev, Vyacheslav Markhayev, Yuriy Afonin are valuable not only and not so much for this.

Gennady Zyuganov is skillfully waging a campaign in the spirit of cognitive warfare against his own population. His radical initiatives undermine the very foundation of the Putin consensus — “stability and the right to accumulate.”

And Zyuganov’s recent shocking thesis about withdrawing money from Russians’ accounts is a nuclear explosion under consumer optimism. Russians “heard” it, too, and began to withdraw money from banks en masse.

“The coming to power in the Russian Federation of crazy communists with their program of nationalization and confiscation means the collapse of the financial system, the flight of the remnants of capital, and a civil war of the elites. For the Ukrainian front, this would mean the disorganization of the Russian rear faster than any sanctions,” Taras Zagorodny notes.

It was previously reported that the Russians are launching a large-scale propaganda campaign in the occupied territories of Ukraine ahead of the so-called State Duma elections, which will be held on September 20.
