Some supermarkets in Kyiv and the region closed due to blackout

In Kyiv and Kyiv region, some supermarkets temporarily stopped operating due to a power outage.

The Novus chain stated that due to the power outage, not all stores can operate as usual.

As of 09:00 on January 13, 2026, about 17 Novus supermarkets are not operating in Kyiv and the region. In particular, these are stores in the capital at 49 Anna Akhmatova Street, 8 Petro Hryhorenko Avenue, 17-a and 18 Dniprovska Embankment, as well as at 48/5 Zlatoustovska Street.

The Silpo chain reported that due to low temperatures and power outages, some supermarkets are temporarily closed.

At the same time, ATB stated that all stores in the chain are operating as normal and denied information about mass closures of supermarkets.

It was previously reported that Russian troops again struck a DTEK thermal power plant, causing significant damage to the equipment.

As a reminder, as of the morning of January 12, consumers in seven regions were without power due to Russian shelling, and 260 settlements were completely or partially without power due to bad weather.
